Conservation Glazing is a unique system that provides new life for old windows.

Currently huge heat losses are incurred around the country by owners of old buildings. This is because replacement with modern double glazed units is not permitted in the case of listed buildings and not desirable for aesthetic reasons in many other period properties.

Our system is designed to solve two conservation problems:

  • Conservation of heat. Better thermal insulation results in lower heating bills and a lower carbon footprint. We estimate that installation of Conservation Glazing will reduce carbon emissions from home heating by between 12% and 14% when applied to a typical Georgian property.
  • Conservation of original features of listed and other historic buildings. This can be achieved without making a noticeable visual impact while protecting the original fabric for the future.
