| Performance Tests have been conducted in conjunction with English Heritage and Historic Scotland. Using a sash from a typical 16 pane Georgian sash window a u-value of 5.2 was measured for the glazed areas before the installation of Conservation Glazing. The measurement after installation was 2.5, meaning that heat loss is roughly halved. This result is similar to that of plain double glazing (i.e. no low emissivity coatings). Internal condensation is virtually eliminated. This benefits the preservation of the virtual window as well as the comfort of the home owner. |
